Best USDT to naira P2P rate: what our daily readings show
In our reading at 13:19 WAT on 11 Oct 2026, a 100,000 naira order bought USDT at a typical 1,364.85 naira on MEXC, 1,365.69 on Bybit and 1,365.90 on OKX, and sold it at 1,360.55 to 1,362.83. The exchange mattered less than the advert: buying 100 USDT from a featured Bybit advert cost 8,431 naira more than the typical price on the same list. This is one reading at one time, not a current price.
When we read the naira P2P lists at 13:19 WAT on 11 Oct 2026, a 100,000 naira order bought USDT at a typical 1,364.85 naira on MEXC, 1,365.69 on Bybit and 1,365.90 on OKX. The three exchanges were about one naira apart at that size, while taking the cheapest featured advert on Bybit’s list instead of an ordinary one cost 8,431 naira more on 100 USDT.
This is one reading at one time, not a current price and not a forecast. We repeat it every day, so use the latest daily reading for today’s figures and treat the numbers below as a worked example of what moves the price.
Typical prices by order size at 13:19 WAT on 11 Oct 2026
All prices are naira per USDT, taken from the public advert lists for OKX, Bybit and MEXC.
| Exchange | You are | 20,000 naira order | 100,000 naira order | 1,000,000 naira order |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OKX | Buying USDT | 1,364.00 | 1,365.90 | 1,380.00 |
| Bybit | Buying USDT | 1,364.98 | 1,365.69 | 1,364.55 |
| MEXC | Buying USDT | 1,365.97 | 1,364.85 | 1,370.35 |

| Bybit | Selling USDT | 1,359.00 | 1,360.55 | 1,361.38 |
| MEXC | Selling USDT | 1,359.00 | 1,362.83 | 1,363.34 |
Binance is not in the table because it discontinued all Nigerian naira services in March 2024, so its P2P market does not offer naira.
How we got these numbers
- Source: a script reads each exchange’s public advert list without an account.
- Which adverts count: an advert counts only if it accepts the order size and its advertiser shows at least 10 completed orders and a completion rate of 90% or better.
- Typical price: the middle of the 10 best prices among those adverts.
- Featured adverts: recorded apart and never counted in the typical price.
- Bybit: read with the filter Bybit’s own page applies by default, which shows verified advertisers.
Every past reading is published as a CSV file on our daily page.
What the featured adverts cost on 100 USDT
Bybit and MEXC both showed featured adverts in this reading, and OKX showed none. In every case the featured price was worse for the person taking it than the typical price on the same list.
- Bybit, buying: 3 featured adverts priced from 1,450 to 1,455 naira.
- Bybit, selling: 4 featured adverts, all paying 1,337.40 naira.
- MEXC, buying: 3 featured adverts priced from 1,380 to 1,464.10 naira.
- MEXC, selling: 2 featured adverts paying 1,326 naira.
| Trade of 100 USDT | Featured advert | Typical price | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buy on Bybit | 145,000 naira (at 1,450) | 136,569 naira (at 1,365.69) | 8,431 naira more |
| Buy on MEXC | 138,000 naira (at 1,380) | 136,485 naira (at 1,364.85) | 1,515 naira more |
| Sell on Bybit | 133,740 naira (at 1,337.40) | 136,055 naira (at 1,360.55) | 2,315 naira less |
| Sell on MEXC | 132,600 naira (at 1,326) | 136,283 naira (at 1,362.83) | 3,683 naira less |
The buying rows use the cheapest featured advert on each list, so the dearer featured adverts would have cost more still. When we read the three pages by hand in their default view earlier the same day, the featured selling advert on MEXC was at 1,326 naira then too.
We report only what the lists showed. We do not know why these adverts were priced as they were.
Order size changed the price, in different directions for buying and selling
Selling got better with size on all three exchanges. A 1,000,000 naira sale beat a 20,000 naira sale by 4.42 naira per USDT on OKX, 2.38 on Bybit and 4.34 on MEXC.
Buying did not follow one pattern.
- Bybit: the typical buying price stayed within about a naira across the three sizes.
- MEXC: it rose to 1,370.35 naira for a 1,000,000 naira order.
- OKX: it rose to 1,380.00 naira, and only 8 qualifying adverts accepted a purchase that large.
At that size the exchange did matter. 1,000,000 naira bought about 732.84 USDT at Bybit’s typical 1,364.55 and about 724.64 USDT at OKX’s typical 1,380.00, a difference of about 8.2 USDT on the same money. That is a result for this one reading, not a ranking of the exchanges.
One practical trap sits here. On 11 Oct 2026, Bybit’s naira P2P page opened with 5,000 NGN already typed into the amount box. The first prices it showed were therefore the ones for very small orders, not for the amount you plan to trade.
The gap between buying and selling
If you buy USDT and sell it straight back, the gap between the two prices is your cost. This is the P2P version of a spread. For a 100,000 naira order in our reading it was:
| Exchange | Typical buy | Typical sell | Gap per USDT | Gap as a share |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OKX | 1,365.90 | 1,362.03 | 3.87 naira | 0.28% |
| Bybit | 1,365.69 | 1,360.55 | 5.14 naira | 0.38% |
| MEXC | 1,364.85 | 1,362.83 | 2.02 naira | 0.15% |
On fees, the three exchanges publish different rules:
- OKX says it charges zero fee on P2P trading, and notes that a bank or wallet may charge for the transfer itself.
- MEXC says its P2P service has a zero-platform-fee policy.
- Bybit lists naira among the few currencies that carry a P2P fee. Advertisers who post buy adverts in naira pay a maker fee of 0.3% (general advertisers), 0.275% (verified advertisers) or 0.25% (block advertisers). Sell adverts carry no maker fee, and the taker fee, paid by the person who takes an advert, is 0%.
Bybit had the lowest typical selling price at 100,000 naira in this reading, and it is also the one exchange of the three that charges advertisers on naira buy adverts. Those two facts sit side by side. We cannot show that one causes the other.
A routine for picking an advert
- Type your real amount first. Prices change with order size, and a page can open with a small amount already filled in, as Bybit’s did with 5,000 NGN.
- Skip the featured adverts and read the ordinary list. In our reading every featured advert was worse than the typical price. Even the cheapest featured buying advert on each list cost 1,515 naira more on MEXC and 8,431 naira more on Bybit on a 100 USDT purchase.
- Compare the best few prices, not just the top one. On MEXC the single cheapest qualifying advert for a 100,000 naira purchase was 1,356.00 naira, well below the typical 1,364.85. One advertiser can sit far from the rest of the list.
- Weigh the advertiser before the price. OKX’s safety article for traders in Africa says Kenya and Nigeria are its two largest African P2P markets. It advises putting an advertiser’s completed orders, completion rate and account age above a slightly better rate. Our own readings only count advertisers with at least 10 completed orders and a 90% completion rate.
- If you are selling, release only after the naira shows in your own banking app. The same article says a screenshot is not proof. It reports that the costliest pattern for Nigerian sellers is a buyer who reverses a completed bank transfer after receiving the crypto, or who pays with funds from a hacked account.
- Keep the chat and payment details inside the app, as OKX’s article advises.
On MEXC specifically, MEXC says the seller’s crypto is locked in escrow and released only after payment is confirmed, and that KYC verification is required before using P2P.
What we could not confirm
- Why featured adverts were priced worse than the ordinary list, or how an advert comes to be featured on Bybit or MEXC.
- Whether Bybit’s advertiser fee on naira buy adverts explains its lower typical selling price in this reading.
- Whether any pattern here holds at other times. This is a single reading from 13:19 WAT on 11 Oct 2026.
