Privacy
Short version: we set no cookies, run no advertising or third-party analytics scripts, and do not store your IP address.
What we count when you open a page
We keep a simple count of page views so we know which pages are useful. For each view we record the page path, the site you came from (for example a search engine), your country as reported by our hosting network, and whether the device is a phone or a computer. We do not record your IP address, we do not set a cookie, and we do not build a profile of you.
Links to brokers and exchanges
Links to a venue go through a redirect on our own domain. We count how many times each one is clicked and from which of our pages. Some of these are referral links: they tell the venue the visit came from Broker Almanac. They do not tell the venue who you are. Once you arrive on a venue's site, its own privacy policy and cookies apply, not ours.
Tools that remember things
The Practice Arena and the Trading Journal save your trades in your own browser's storage on your own device. That data is never sent to us, and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it.
Live prices
Pages that show live prices ask for them directly from the data provider: CoinGecko, open.er-api.com, Binance or OKX. Your browser makes that request, so the provider sees it the way any website you visit would.
If you contact us
The contact form stores the message you write, plus your name and email address if you choose to give them, the page you mention, and your country. To stop the form being abused we also keep a scrambled fingerprint of the sending address that changes every day; we do not keep the address itself. We use your details only to reply and to correct the site. Ask us to delete a message and we will.
Who hosts the site
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any host, its network handles your request, including your IP address, in order to deliver the page.
What we do not do
- No advertising networks, tracking pixels or third-party analytics scripts.
- No selling or sharing of data. There is nothing here to sell.
- No accounts and no sign-in.
