P2P rates

What USDT actually costs when you buy it from, or sell it to, another person on an exchange's P2P market. We read the advert lists every day and keep the history.

What these readings are

A converter shows the mid-market rate. Nobody trades at that rate on P2P: you pick an advert, and the advertiser's price is your price. So every day we read the public advert lists themselves and record what an ordinary order would have got.

  • Three order sizes. The best price for a small order is often not the best price for a large one, so each size is read separately.
  • Typical and best. The typical price is the middle of the 10 best prices from advertisers with at least 10 completed orders and a 90% completion rate. The best is the single best of those adverts.
  • Featured adverts apart. Adverts an exchange promotes at the top of its list are recorded on their own and never counted in the typical price.
  • History you can download. Every reading is kept as CSV on the open data page, free to reuse with credit.

These are advert prices at one moment, not live quotes and not completed trades. How we collect and check figures is on how we measure and check.
