Two defaults that change the first price you see
When we opened Bybit’s naira P2P page on 11 Oct 2026, two things were already set before we touched anything.
- 5,000 NGN was typed into the amount box. The first prices shown were therefore the ones for very small orders. Type your real amount before you compare anything.
- Two filter boxes were ticked: “Show Verified Advertisers or Block Trade Merchants” and “Show only Eligible Ads”. With that filter we counted 214 adverts selling USDT and 1,132 adverts buying USDT. Without it there were 360 and 1,423.
At the same reading Bybit showed 3 featured adverts on the buying side, priced from 1,450 to 1,455 naira, and 4 on the selling side, all paying 1,337.40 naira. Both were worse than the typical prices below.
What a naira trade costs in fees
Bybit’s P2P fee page says the taker, the person who takes an existing advert, pays 0% on naira trades. The market page itself shows “0 Transaction Fees” for takers.
Naira is one of the few currencies where Bybit charges advertisers. This applies to you only if you post your own advert.
| Your role | Bybit fee on a naira trade |
|---|---|
| Taker (you take an existing advert) | 0% |
| General advertiser posting a buy advert | 0.3% |
| Verified advertiser posting a buy advert | 0.275% |
| Block advertiser posting a buy advert | 0.25% |
| Any advertiser posting a sell advert | No maker fee |
The same page adds that a payment provider may charge its own fee for the transfer. That charge is separate from Bybit’s.
Smallest order, payment methods and time to pay
Bybit has no minimum to open an account. On P2P the minimum is set by each advertiser, not by Bybit. The figures below are our count at 13:19 WAT on 11 Oct 2026, with Bybit’s default filter on.
- Smallest order: the lowest minimum on either list was 4,500 naira.
- Small orders: 47% of the adverts you can buy from accepted an order of 10,000 naira or less.
- Time to pay: 15 minutes on 89% of the adverts you can buy from, and 30 minutes on the rest.
| Payment method | Adverts you buy from | Adverts you sell to |
|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer | 91% | 93% |
| OPay | 36% | 77% |
| PalmPay | 25% | 67% |
| Kuda | 24% | 70% |
| Access Bank | 12% | 45% |
GTBank was accepted on 10% of the adverts you can buy from.
Price by order size on 11 Oct 2026
These are the typical prices per USDT from our reading.
| Order size | To buy USDT | To sell USDT |
|---|---|---|
| 20,000 naira | 1,364.98 | 1,359.00 |
| 100,000 naira | 1,365.69 | 1,360.55 |
| 1,000,000 naira | 1,364.55 | 1,361.38 |
How we read the lists. A script reads the public advert list without an account, using Bybit’s default filter. An advert counts only if it accepts the order size and its advertiser shows at least 10 completed orders and a completion rate of 90% or better. The typical price is the middle of the 10 best such prices. Featured adverts are recorded apart and never counted in it. We repeat the reading every day and publish it with the history on our USDT to naira rates page.
Bybit next to OKX and MEXC at the same reading
For a 100,000 naira order, read at the same time on OKX’s naira P2P market and MEXC’s naira P2P market:
| Venue | To buy | To sell | Gap per USDT | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bybit | 1,365.69 | 1,360.55 | 5.14 | 0.38% |
| OKX | 1,365.90 | 1,362.03 | 3.87 | 0.28% |
| MEXC | 1,364.85 | 1,362.83 | 2.02 | 0.15% |
Bybit had the widest gap and the lowest selling price of the three in this reading. Bybit also charges naira advertisers a fee on buy adverts. We cannot show that one causes the other.
Larger orders told a different story. For a 1,000,000 naira purchase, Bybit’s typical 1,364.55 bought about 732.84 USDT. OKX’s typical price was 1,380.00, from only 8 qualifying adverts, which bought about 724.64 USDT.
What the featured adverts would have cost on 100 USDT
| Trade | Featured advert | Typical price | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buy 100 USDT | 145,000 naira (at 1,450) | 136,569 naira (at 1,365.69) | 8,431 naira more |
| Sell 100 USDT | 133,740 naira (at 1,337.40) | 136,055 naira (at 1,360.55) | 2,315 naira less |
The featured adverts were not the best price in this reading, so compare them with the rest of the list before you take one.
How to buy USDT with naira
- Complete identity verification. Bybit’s P2P FAQ says KYC, or business KYC, is required to trade on P2P.
- Open the naira P2P page and replace the 5,000 NGN in the amount box with the amount you want to spend.
- Compare the featured adverts with the rest of the list. In our reading the featured ones were priced worse.
- Pick an advert whose minimum fits your order and which accepts your payment method. Look at the advertiser’s 30-day completion rate, which Bybit calculates as completed orders divided by total orders over the last 30 days.
- Open the order and pay inside the time shown on the advert, 15 or 30 minutes in our count.
- Pay from your own account in one transfer. Bybit’s page warns against third-party and split payments.
- Keep every message in the Bybit order chat. Bybit warns users never to chat outside the platform.
How to sell USDT for naira
- Complete identity verification and have the USDT in your Bybit account.
- Switch to the sell side, enter your amount and compare the featured adverts with the rest of the list.
- Pick an advert that pays to a method you can receive on. Bank transfer, OPay, Kuda and PalmPay were the most widely accepted in our count.
- Open the order and wait for the naira.
- Check the money in your own banking app, including the sender’s name, before you release the USDT. A payment from a third party is one of the things Bybit warns against.
- Keep the conversation in the order chat.
Bybit’s rules on cancellations and appeals
- One order per pair of users. Only one active P2P order is allowed between the same two users at a time.
- Cancellations. Bybit says exceeding the cancellation limit leads to a 24-hour restriction on P2P trading.
- Appeal window. Bybit’s appeal guide says an appeal can only be submitted within five calendar days after the order is closed.
- Number of appeals. An order in progress can be appealed up to 2 times, and a cancelled or completed order up to 3 times.
- Fast track. A judgment is made within 15 minutes, without an appeal specialist joining the chat.
- Proof. Bybit asks for a video recording of the transaction history page in your banking app. It must show a successful login, the account name and number, and the transaction with its amount, payer or payee name, date and time.
Downsides to weigh
- P2P is a trade with a stranger. Bybit warns against off-platform chat and third-party payments, and an appeal depends on the proof you can produce.
- Featured adverts cost 8,431 naira more on a 100 USDT purchase in our reading.
- Bybit’s gap between buying and selling was the widest of the three venues we read for a 100,000 naira order.
- Bybit also offers derivatives. Leverage is high-risk, and crypto volatility can wipe positions quickly.
- Bybit is not available in the US, Canada and a number of other regions.
Bybit says it is regulated by VARA in Dubai and registered in multiple markets. Besides P2P, it can be funded by card, USDT or crypto transfer.
What we could not confirm
- The number of cancellations allowed before the 24-hour restriction. Bybit’s page does not give it as a number.
- How long an appeal takes outside the fast track, and how quickly advertisers pay or release. We did not measure either.
- Bybit’s standing with Nigerian regulators. It was not part of this research, so we say nothing on it.
