HFM fees and charges (2026): spreads, swaps and the truth
For most traders, the main HFM fee is the spread. HFM advertises spreads from 1.4 pips on Premium and Cent, from 0.6 pips on Pro, and from 0.0 pips plus a commission on Zero Spread, and says all of these accounts are swap-free. HFM states it charges no deposit or withdrawal fees on its side, but our own test found Premium EUR/USD at 2.7 pips, wider than the advertised figure.
For most traders, the biggest of the HFM fees is the spread. HFM advertises spreads from 1.4 pips on its Premium and Cent accounts, from 0.6 pips on Pro, and from 0.0 pips plus a commission on Zero Spread. HFM says all of these accounts are swap-free, and it states it charges no deposit or withdrawal fees on its own side. The catch is that “from” figures are best-case numbers. When we tested Premium EUR/USD ourselves, the spread was 2.7 pips.
This guide explains what HFM publishes, what we measured, and what we have not been able to verify, so you can work out your real costs before you fund an account.
HFM fees at a glance
Here is a summary of HFM’s published trading costs by account type, based on HFM’s own pages (checked 2026-09-13):
| Account | Published spread | Commission | Swaps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cent | From 1.4 pips | None | Swap-free |
| Premium | From 1.4 pips | None | Swap-free |
| Pro | From 0.6 pips | Not verified by us | Swap-free |
| Zero Spread | From 0.0 pips | Yes, charged | Swap-free |
HFM says there is no minimum deposit on its entry accounts, and the Pro account starts from $100. Keep in mind that HFM’s premium account tiers need larger balances.
Spreads: the main HFM fee
A spread is the gap between the buy and sell price. You pay it every time you open a trade, whether the trade wins or loses. On the Premium and Cent accounts, HFM says the spread is the only trading cost, with no separate commission.
What we measured
HFM advertises Premium spreads from 1.4 pips. When we checked Premium EUR/USD during the London session on 2026-09-07, the spread was 2.7 pips. That is 1.3 pips wider than the advertised minimum.
This does not mean the advertised figure is false. “From” is the lowest spread you may see, not what you will get most of the time. Spreads change during the day, and in busy 2026 markets they can widen around major news. This was a single first-hand reading, and wider testing across sessions and pairs is in progress.
Zero Spread and Pro: check the commission
The Zero Spread account starts from 0.0 pips, but HFM charges a commission on it. We have not independently verified the commission rate, so look at HFM’s current fee page before you compare it with Premium. A 0.0 pip spread plus commission is not always cheaper than a wider spread with no commission. It depends on how often and how much you trade.
Swaps and overnight charges
A swap is an interest charge or credit applied when you keep a position open overnight. HFM says its Premium, Cent, Pro and Zero Spread accounts are swap-free. That matters if you hold trades for days or weeks.
Two points to keep in mind:
- HFM operates through several regulated entities, including the FCA (UK), CySEC (Cyprus), FSCA (South Africa), CMA (Kenya), DFSA (Dubai) and FSA (Seychelles). Account terms can differ depending on which entity holds your account.
- Swap-free terms may not apply the same way to every instrument. Confirm the details for your account and country before relying on them.
HFM deposit and withdrawal fees
HFM states it charges no deposit or withdrawal fees on its own side. The funding methods listed are:
- Bank transfer
- Card
- Skrill
- Neteller
Your own bank, card issuer or e-wallet can still charge you a transfer fee or a currency conversion cost. HFM does not control those charges. Currency conversion costs on HFM’s side are not something we have independently verified, so check this if your account currency is different from your bank currency.
We have not listed USDT or other crypto funding because it is not among the methods we could confirm for HFM. Check the deposit page in your own client area to see what is actually offered where you live.
Inactivity fee: unconfirmed
We could not find a clear dormant-account fee in HFM’s published material. We are not saying there is no fee. We are saying we could not verify one. If you plan to leave an account unused for a while, read HFM’s current terms for your entity first.
How to check your real HFM costs, step by step
- Pick your account type based on how you trade, not on the lowest headline spread.
- Open a demo or live platform and watch the live spread on your main pair at the times you usually trade.
- Look up the commission on HFM’s fee page if you are considering Zero Spread or Pro.
- Confirm swap-free terms for your country and the instruments you plan to hold overnight.
- Ask your bank or e-wallet about their own transfer and conversion fees.
- Check the inactivity terms if you might stop trading for a while.
The honest downsides
- Advertised spreads are best-case figures. Our Premium EUR/USD reading was almost double the headline number.
- HFM is not available to US residents.
- Its crypto CFD range is thinner than crypto-native venues offer.
- Premium account tiers need larger balances.
- Some costs, including the Zero Spread commission rate and any inactivity fee, are not something we have verified.
Is HFM expensive? The bottom line on HFM fees
HFM’s fee structure is simple to follow. It advertises no deposit or withdrawal fees on its side, publishes spreads by account, and describes its accounts as swap-free. The low entry point also makes it easy for beginners to start. The honest caveat is that the spread you actually pay can be wider than the advertised one, so judge HFM on live spreads at your own trading times. Check that the services are available in your country before you open an account.

What we measured, against what is published
| What | Published | We measured | Date |
|---|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD spread, Premium | from 1.4 pips | 2.7 pips | 7 Sep 2026, London session |
| Crypto (USDT) withdrawal | not stated | 2 to 3 hours | 7 Sep 2026 |
| Minimum deposit, Premium / Cent | $0 | $0 | checked 13 Sep 2026 |
The spread row is the one that changes decisions. Published figures are a floor, not an average, and a floating spread widens with liquidity. If you are planning around 1.4 pips, plan around 2.7.
On a standard lot that is roughly $27 per round trip instead of $14. At twenty round trips a month it is $540 rather than $280. That difference is not a rounding error, and it is invisible until you measure it.
The full fee picture
| Charge | HFM |
|---|---|
| Spread | The main cost. Premium and Cent from 1.4 pips, Pro from 0.6, Zero Spread from 0.0 plus commission |
| Commission | None on Premium, Cent, Pro. Charged on Zero Spread |
| Swap | None. Every account is swap-free |
| Deposit / withdrawal | None on HFM’s side; your bank or network may charge |
| Dormancy | Not clearly published. Check your client area rather than assuming none exists |
That dormancy row matters. We are not going to invent a number we could not verify. Treat the absence of a published figure as a reason to ask before leaving a funded account idle, not as a guarantee.
Swap-free is the underrated part
Most brokers charge overnight financing and offer swap-free as a special account on request. HFM applies it to every account type as standard.
For a position held a week on a pair with heavily negative swap, the financing saved can easily exceed the 1.3-pip spread difference against a tighter broker. Wednesday rollover is charged at triple rate at most brokers to cover the weekend, which compounds it further.
The trade-off in one line: HFM costs more to enter and nothing to hold. Whether that is cheaper than the alternative depends entirely on how long you hold, which only you can answer.
Zero Spread is not free
The “from 0.0 pips” account charges a commission instead. Compare it properly:
- Spread-only account: measured 2.7 pips ≈ $27 per standard lot round trip.
- Zero Spread: near-zero spread plus commission. Add the commission at your real volume before concluding it is cheaper.
Read the quote carefully too. “$3.50 per side” and “$7 round turn” are the same number; “$7 per side” is double. See commission.
Which entity holds your account
HFM operates through multiple entities with different regulators. The licence in the website footer is frequently not the one that onboards an overseas client, and that difference decides whether you have negative balance protection and segregated client funds.
Find the entity name on your own account documents. It is five minutes of work and it is the most useful research available before depositing.
How to actually compare
Put the all-in number next to the alternative at your real monthly volume rather than comparing headline spreads.
At our measured figures: HFM Premium about $27 per standard lot round trip with no swap, against XM Standard about $20 with swap charged nightly. For a day trader, XM wins. For someone holding a week, HFM frequently wins. See the full head to head: HFM vs XM.

Frequently asked
Does HFM charge withdrawal fees?
HFM states it charges no deposit or withdrawal fees on its own side. Your bank, card issuer or e-wallet (such as Skrill or Neteller) can still charge its own transfer or conversion fee, so check with them before you move money.
Is the HFM spread really 1.4 pips on the Premium account?
HFM advertises Premium spreads from 1.4 pips, and "from" means that is the lowest figure, not the typical one. When we checked Premium EUR/USD ourselves during the London session on 2026-09-07, it was 2.7 pips. Spreads move around, so check the live quote in your platform before you trade.
Does HFM charge swaps on overnight positions?
HFM says its Premium, Cent, Pro and Zero Spread accounts are swap-free. Terms can differ by regulated entity and by instrument, so confirm the swap details for your own account and country on HFM's website before holding trades overnight.
Does HFM have an inactivity fee?
We could not find a clear dormant-account fee in HFM's published information, so we are treating this as unconfirmed. Check HFM's current terms for the entity that holds your account rather than assuming there is no charge.
