Binance review
CryptoThe largest global crypto exchange by volume - deepest liquidity, though local fiat rails vary by country.
Traders who want the widest coin selection and deepest liquidity, funding via USDT/crypto.
Traders who need direct local-currency rails in a market where Binance has paused fiat services.
Fees, explained
The real cost of a trade is the spread plus any commission, plus funding and withdrawal fees, not just the headline number. We separately measure the real average from a funded account at live session times; a figure marked "testing in progress" is one we have not finished measuring ourselves.
Measuring Our own average EUR/USD spread and real withdrawal time for Binance, from a funded account, are being measured and will be date-stamped here.
Regulation & safety
Binance operates under 3 regulatory licences: MiCA (EU), VARA (Dubai), Registered/licensed in multiple markets. Regulation is not a guarantee against loss - leverage and volatility do the damage - but it tells you who you can complain to and how client funds are meant to be handled. Always trade with the entity that actually onboards your country.
Opening an account
- Register with your email and verify it.
- Complete identity verification (KYC) - a government ID and proof of address.
- Fund the account using USDT / crypto transfer.
- Start on a demo. Size positions small. Keep a trading journal from day one.
The honest cons
- Direct local-currency (fiat) rails are restricted in some countries - fund via USDT/crypto instead
- Has faced regulatory action in several markets; check your local status before relying on it
- Crypto is highly volatile - capital at real risk
What we like
- Deepest liquidity and largest coin selection globally
- Advanced trading tools and low taker fees at volume
- Mature security and asset-protection track record
Binance fees, and where the discounts really come from
The standard spot tier is 0.10% maker and 0.10% taker. Most of the lower numbers you will see quoted come from two places: thirty-day volume tiers, and holding BNB to pay fees at a discount. Both are real and both have conditions, so check whether you will actually reach the tier before treating a discounted rate as yours.
| Scenario | Effective rate | $1,000 round trip |
|---|---|---|
| Standard tier | 0.10% | $2.00 |
| With BNB discount | 0.075% | $1.50 |
| Instant buy / card | 0.6% to 2.5% | $12 to $50 |
That bottom row is where most first purchases happen, because it is the easiest button on the screen. It costs between six and twenty-five times the order book route for exactly the same asset. Using the spot market instead of the instant-buy widget is the single largest cost saving available to a new Binance user.
What Binance is unambiguously best at
Liquidity. The deepest order books in crypto mean less slippage on size, tighter spreads on majors, and the ability to exit a position when everyone else wants to as well. For anyone trading meaningful size, that is worth more than a 0.02% fee difference, and it is the one advantage competitors cannot simply price-match.
Coin selection is second. Listing standards are stricter than at MEXC, which filters out a large amount of noise, though a long tail of thin markets still exists and depth should be checked before buying anything outside the majors.
Regulation
Binance holds MiCA registration in the EU and a VARA licence in Dubai, alongside registrations in multiple markets. That is the broadest regulatory footprint among the venues we cover. It has also been the subject of significant regulatory action historically, and fiat services have been paused in various markets at various times, which is the practical risk: not that the venue disappears, but that the funding route you depend on stops working in your country with little notice.
Who should look elsewhere
Traders who need direct local-currency rails in a market where Binance fiat is paused, and cost-focused spot traders who would pay half as much at MEXC. Anyone whose activity is purely perpetual futures may prefer a more focused platform.
